Yesterday morning, the police fined dozens of cyclists in Helmond for riding without lights. The police announced this last night in a message on Instagram. The cyclists were caught during a check on the Weg op Den Heuvel in the city.
40 fines were given to cyclists who rode without lights. Three others were fined for texting while on their bikes, running red lights and riding a moped on a cycle path.
“Make sure your bicycle lights are in order! Not only safer for yourself, but also for others,” the police say.
