112 news: cars in flames • lane A2 closed after accident

The police held a speed check on the Aarle-Rixtelseweg in Helmond yesterday. The community police officer had received signals from residents that people were driving too fast in this neighborhood. A total of 132 cars were checked. Three of them received a speeding ticket. They drove 35, 21 and 20 kilometers per hour too fast.

Another driver was going a little too fast, so the police tried to make him slow down with hand signals. The driver saw this as a stop sign and stopped, while he was still half on the road. When the officers approached him, a strong hemp smell emanated from his car. After a test, the driver was found to be under the influence of cannabis. He has been banned from driving for 24 hours.
