Promotion coach stays
1.FC Magdeburg has extended the contract with head coach Christian Titz, which originally expired at the end of the season. This was officially announced by the second division club on Wednesday. The club made no statement about the length of the new working paper.
The former HSV coach Titz took over from Magdeburg in February 2021 and led the club to the 2nd Bundesliga last season as the 3rd division champion. In the lower house, FCM is 17th after 17 games with 17 points. “It is a strong sign from Christian Titz that he has clearly committed himself to FCM, especially in the difficult situation after the end of the preliminary round. This will give our team and the whole environment an extra boost with our great fans who have always supported us. I’m looking forward to continued good and trusting cooperation,” said Managing Director Sport Otmar Schork.
Titz himself, who worked at RW Essen between his engagement in Hamburg and before Magdeburg, added: “I am very pleased that we are continuing on our common path. It shows that the club is on the right track, including the construction of a new training and sports facility. Our goal is to stabilize the team. and further develop it.”
