Kenneth Taylor was named the best player after Ajax’s home match against Almere City FC (3-0). The midfielder assisted Kian Fitz-Jim’s third goal with his head and beautifully scored the second goal towards the end of the first half, with a lob over the keeper.
“I already looked at Nordin Bakker with the long ball and then I saw that he came out a little. The ball fell perfectly in between and I couldn’t really do much more than this, I think,” Taylor said ESPN. Taylor started as a left winger, as he has sometimes done this season under the leadership of coach Francesco Farioli. “The trainer knows that I prefer to play at ‘eight’, but I am also happy to play on the left wing if that is sometimes necessary. We have played a lot of matches this season, because we still had to qualify for European football. The trainer likes that into account and we as a group also think that this is the best,” he referred to the Italian’s frequent rotation.
